The Hungarian government will close the country's borders for all passenger transport and only Hungarian citizens will be allowed to enter. During a parliamentary session this morning, PM Orbán also said all events in Hungary will be banned starting at midnight on Monday, adding that sporting events should be held behind closed doors unless the organizers cancel those events altogether.
Pubs, cinemas and other cultural facilities will also be closed but restaurants, cafés and shops will be allowed to remain open until 3 p.m. This restriction will not apply to food stores, pharmacies and drug stores.
As of late Monday afternoon, 39 people are registered to have been diagnosed with the Covid-19 coronavirus in Hungary, one person died of it, one recovered and 136 are in quarantine.
This Monday, Hungarian authorities have expelled another 13 Iranian students from the country and from the territory of the European Union for violating quarantine rules. The Ministry of Interior said the students had been quarantined at Budapest’s St. László hospital due to this coronavirus, but had left their rooms and behaved aggressively toward health staff. Two Iranian students were expelled from the country on Friday for similar misdemeanor.
