A self-operating organ for Kaohsiung in southern Taiwan has been manufactured by a manufactory based Pécs, southern Hungary, the Hungarian edition of euronews reports.

The instrument, designed for the port city's railway station, is unique in the world: in addition to being earthquake-proof, the organ is programmed with spectacular lighting and various sound effects to accompany the 120 musical inlays.

Designed for the railway station in Taiwan's port city, the instrument is unique in the world. To meet the special environment and the needs of travelers, many considerations have been taken into account: its structure is earthquake-resistant for a time and it is equipped to be protected against birds that might nest in the pipes.

The organ's splendor is enhanced by 120 programmed musical inlays and a range of special features such as lighting and locomotive whistle and bell effects. These are complemented by a special keyboard so that passengers with a musical appetite can try out the instrument.

The Pécs manufactory has so far only made organs for churches and concert halls. They worked on this special order for a year. Now, only the finishing touches are left to be done: the instrument will be packed up and shipped to Taiwan via Hamburg in the next few days.
