Hungarian Olympic Committee 120 years old

The Hungarian Olympic Committee (HOC) celebrates the 120th anniversary of its establishment on December 19th this year. On this occasion, a gala evening took place in the Hungarian Opera House this Monday night with the participation of IOC President Thomas Bach.

The President of the International Olympic Committe spoke to the Hungarian news agency MTI about Budapest's candidacy for the 2024 Summer Games and highlighted the importance of public support to the applicant’s candidacy.

Budapest’s rivals in the competition for hosting the 2024 games are Los Angeles, Rome and Paris. The IOC will select the winner in 2017.
