According to Hungarians, there will be a vaccine against the coronavirus, and the majority believe that it will be available to everyone in a year at the earliest. 55% of the population would most likely self-administer an approved vaccine.
The results of a national representative research commissioned by the Association of Innovative Pharmaceutical Manufacturers (AIPM) confirmed that Hungarians trust in newly developed, innovative medicines. In Hungary, the age-related vaccination system is exemplary, and the survey also shows that it is the most common of the non-mandatory vaccinations against influenza.
The innovative pharmaceutical industry is working hard to develop the Covid-19 vaccine, the effectiveness of which will be multiplied if the public is accepting of newly developed drugs. According to the AIPM, the viral situation has yielded positive results in this respect: people have more confidence in innovative medicines, as shown by the fact that the vast majority of Hungarians expect to develop an effective vaccine against the new virus. This confidence has been underpinned not only by the past few months, but also by decades of development of innovative medicines that have led to more and more effective treatment of many serious diseases, increasing both quality of life and life expectancy to previously unimaginable levels.
