With three gold, two silver and four bronze collected, Hungary became the 6th most successful nation in the swimming pool at the World Aquatics Championships in Kazany, Russia. Considering other aquatics events, too, Hungary was the 8th most successful country.
Katinka Hosszú won the women's 200- and 400-meter individual medley events and finished third in the 200-meter backstroke. László Cseh won a medal each of the men's three butterfly events (gold in 200 meters, silver in 100 meters and bronze in 50 meters).
Dávid Verrasztó finished second in the men's 400-meter individual medley while Boglárka Kapás was third in the women's 1,500-meter freestyle, as was Dániel Gyurta in the men's 200-meter breaststroke.
Outside the pool, Hungary won another medal as Anna Orosz crossed the finish line in second position in the women's 25-kilometer swim.
