The traditional Jelly Festival is held again this year in the northeastern Hungarian city of Miskolc between March 3 and 5. The even was canceled in 2020 and 2021 to the new coronavirus epidemic.
This year's jelly festival began with a spectacular parade and opening ceremony on Friday afternoon and will end on Sunday afternoon with 75th birthday concert of the Hungarian singer Charlie. The event will feature concerts by Margaret Island, Balkan Fanatics, Erös and Spigiboy, Fiesta with Tibi Csordás, Lotfi Begi, Náksi and New Level Empire, among others. The main act of the festival will be Dr. Alban.
The main venues of the event are in the downtown area. The festival area offers a wide range of food and drink, with a continuous program of activities, according to a statement from the Miskolc Municipality. The Antiques Fair is also held in Miskolc at the same time.
The statement adds that the Municipality and Miskolc Holding are contributing a total of HUF 80 million gross to the festival, and the city is also providing services and space for the event.
