Close to 4,000 police officers will be on duty to ensure public safety on the day of Saturday’s UEFA Champions League final in the Ferenc Puskás Stadium in Budapest, Zoltán János Kuczik, the deputy of the national police chief said on Tuesday, MTI reports.
He told a press conference that fans of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Arsenal have each purchased more than 17,000 tickets. Police information shows that further tens of thousands of fans are arriving in Budapest without tickets, he added.
Vilmos Szabó, the Hungarian Football Federation’s director of international and organizational affairs, said that in addition to the fan zone set up at Heroes’ Square and the Champions Festival events, two separate fan zones have been established for the supporters of the two teams.
