The number of new passenger car registrations in Hungary rose 7.7% year-on-year to 95,946 in January-September, data compiled by the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA) show.
Hybrid electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles accounted for 55% of sales, cars with petrol engines made up 24% and vehicles with diesel engines 12%. Fully-electric vehicles accounted for 8% of sales.
Sales of battery electric vehicles rose 22.9% to 8,025 during the period.
In the first nine months of this year, 95,946 new cars were registered in Hungary, 7.7% more than a year earlier. Sales of diesel cars increased by 3.3% to 11,223, while sales of gasoline cars decreased by 14.7% to 22,947. Sales of BEV cars rose by 22.9% to 8,025, PHEV cars by 8% to 4,642, and PHEV cars by 20.5% to 48,579.
