Minus 28.1 degrees Celsius (that is, minus 18.58 degrees Fahrenheit) was measured at dawn in the village of Tésa in the north of Pest county near the Slovak border - a new cold record. The previous one, minus 26.5 degrees Celsius was measured 32 years ago in nearby Romhány.
