Pandemic Update: 392 Deaths in Hungary

During this Friday's Operational Group press conference, Chief Medical Officer Cecília Müller reported a steady increase in the number of people recovered. She said that more tests are being carried out and nearly 100,000 samples have so far been taken.

The confirmed number of people currently infected with the coronavirus in Hungary is 1,921 (1,199 in Budapest and Pest County + 722 in the rest of the country). There are 665 people (463 + 402) recovered and 392 (310 + 82) deceased. Nationwide, there are 11,036 people in compulsory home quarantine. The official number of samples tested in an accredited laboratory by the authorities in this country of 9.8 million people is 99.058.

For the fourth day in a row, the number of newly confirmed infections is declining, she said. The effects must be monitored for at least two weeks in rural areas where the defense system changed on May 4.
