The Road to Smiles Foundation "painted the country blue" on the occasion of World Autism Day this Sunday.
Several buildings in Budapest and in the countryside, as well as online spaces, were also turned blue as part of the Foundation's #éniskékvagyok [I’m also blue] campaign.
Every year, more and more people join the awareness-raising initiative with the color of autism. This year, on April 2, many buildings, such as the Citadel in Budapest, Müpa Budapest, the new MOL Campus, the Groupama Arena, the Győr Town Hall and the TV tower in Pécs were also covered in blue, according to the press release published by the organization on the occasion of the event.
As the organizers have pointed out, autism is a social problem in Hungary, it is treated as a taboo that is not talked about or known about enough. The Foundation is working to reach out to as many people as possible to talk about the problem and the difficulties of autism.
It was three years ago, the Foundation started the #éniskékvagyok campaign, asking everyone to wear something blue and share a photo of themselves wearing it on social media, which was successful and gave reason to continue.
