Provident Financial Ltd., as one of the leading players in the Hungarian financial sector, has previously announced its cooperation with the BOM Foundation for Hungarian Sport. Now, the CEO of Provident, Botond Szirmák has joined the Board of Trustees of the Foundation and pledges his continued support for Hungarian sports.
In a statement released this Wednesday, Provident says that over its more than two decades of existence, it has always given priority to supporting Hungarian sports life. The company has been a dedicated supporter of the Ferencváros sports club and has previously supported handball, basketball and ice hockey. Meanwhile, it continues to involve its 2,200 employees in supporting sporting success. The company has also been closely involved with the Soroksár men's football team in Budapest since last year, becoming one of its main sponsors.
"While all colleagues in the company are proud of the role Provident plays in the Hungarian sports scene, I personally feel very honored to have joined the board of trustees of the BOM Foundation for Hungarian Sport. At Provident, we believe in the community-building power of sport, which is why we have decided to invest in the dual career opportunities for our most talented intact and para-sport athletes by supporting the BOM Foundation's Albert Berzeviczy Scholarship and the Mentor Programs of the BOM Foundation for Hungarian Sport. The Olympic and Paralympic movement not only gives a lot to the athletes, but is also of great importance to us, the fans, and therefore I will work on the Board of Trustees to ensure that the Hungarian anthem is played as often as possible at the upcoming Olympic Games", the statement quotes Botond Szirmák.
The management of the financial service provider believes that the perseverance and commitment required for sporting success can be put on a par with business life, and these shared values form a solid basis for the cooperation between Provident and the BOM Foundation, as part of which the company can contribute to the Olympic and Paralympic preparation of the youngest Hungarian athletes.
Provident would like to contribute to the success of these young athletes through the financial support it is now providing. Botond Szirmák, CEO of Provident, will work to strengthen the close cooperation between the two organizations as a new member of the Foundation's Board of Trustees.
"There is no greater honor for the BOM Foundation than to have an internationally renowned company like Provident Financial Ltd. not only provide financial support, but also personally participate in the management of our activities with its top executive. With Botond Szirmák, one of the most committed senior managers in the Hungarian financial world to sport, the Board of Trustees of our Foundation is strengthened," according to Attila Szalay-Berzeviczy, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the BOM Foundation for Hungarian Sport.
Together, Provident and BOM are committed to the continuous development of Hungarian sport, the statement concludes.
