Beaches and promenades are closed at many locations around Lake Balaton in western Hungary in accordance with the limitations due to the Covid-19 pandemic and tourists flooding to local resorts to take advantage of the pleasant weather at the Easter long week-end had to be turned back from several places, the news site napi.hu reports.
In Balatonlelle, there were one or two cases where the cordon tape was torn off and people were in a forbidden area. Saturday night, nearly 40 people had to be sent away from the Virág (Flower) Beach. Some of the people stopped are not residents there and just wanted to take a walk on the shore of the lake. There was a much larger number of renitents in Balatonboglár, where one of the beaches was evacuated but the same families showed up on another and a third one but eventually, they were sent away from all of those places.
In total, hundreds of people had to be asked to leave the shore areas every day in these two towns only.
