The oil and gas company Mol Plc. and the University of Miskolc (ME) in NE Hungary signed a new partnership agreement in the field of research, development and innovation on Tuesday.
At a press conference in Miskolc, József Molnár, CEO of the Mol Group, said that the cooperation between the company and the university would open a new chapter in the fields of research, development and innovation. He added that they would like the agreement to include systematic and long-term joint work.
The CEO said the group's activities in recent decades had been "typically based on mature technologies". In his view, the company has opened up in a direction where "the road is untrodden" and there are no such technologies, partly because of the changed world.
He stressed the need to find solutions that will enable the group to remain competitive in the next 20 years in a changed environment and conditions.
To keep existing technologies in operation and to implement new innovations, "technical art" is needed, which is also expected from collaboration, he said.
