Low-cost airliner Wizz Air is offering another 100,000 free tickets to Ukrainian citizens on Wizz Air Hungary and Wizz Air UK flights, the airline told the Hungarian state news agency MTI on Thursday.
Wizz Air is continuing its earlier initiative to offer free tickets for flights departing between September 15 and December 8, thus helping Ukrainian citizens to reach their destinations. The tickets offered are available on 800 routes.
Travelers will be required to provide their Ukrainian passport number at the time of booking and to present their Ukrainian passport and the necessary visa and travel documents during the airport check-in process.
The ticket offered includes one carry-on bag, and there is a fee for additional baggage to be checked in or on board the aircraft, the airline said.
In the statement, Wizz Air CEO József Váradi stressed that Wizz Air is one of the most important airlines in Ukraine and that the company is doing its utmost to support the country and alleviate the difficulties of its citizens in difficult times.
Wizz Air already made a similar offer on March 2, when it also helped Ukrainian refugees with 100,000 free tickets on continental European flights from countries neighboring Ukraine (Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and Romania).
