A second unit of 52 Hungarian police officers left for Slovenia on Monday morning to assist it in halting illegal migration. Slovenia asked for international contribution to illegal migration control efforts at the end of October this year.
As the Hungarian news agency MTI reports, Hungary was among the first nations to respond by offering to station police officers there between November 9 and January 31 next year.
The second unit will work at reception centers, help patrolling the green borders and carry out on-the-spot checks across the country, the national police chief told a press conference on Monday. They will serve under Slovenian command until January 31.
