Romania, Hungary must discuss ethnic policies soon

A Hungarian Foreign Ministry official says Romania and Hungary should start discussing - as soon as possible - the situation on recent measures by the Bucharest government which hurt the interests of the ethnic Hungarian minority.

Zsolt Németh, Minister of state at the Hungarian Foreign Ministry, talked about this in Romania earlier this week.. Németh said that Romanian Prime Minister Victor Ponta had failed to initiate talks with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán during the latter's stay in Bucharest four days ago though it should have taken steps.
