An interactive Olympic history exhibition entitled 'Our Sensational Champions - 177 Fabulous Victories' has opened in Millenáris Park in Budapest. The exhibition commemorates the Hungarian victories in the Olympic Games so far.
Among the 305 artefacts on display are three shirts worn by Dénes Kemény, the head coach of the water polo team, when he and his players jumped into the water to celebrate their victories after winning the finals, as well as the original manuscript of Ferenc Mező's 1928 art competition Olympic gold medal and Henrietta Ónodi's own design dress in which she performed her gold medal-winning gymnastics routine.
Dezső Dobor, secretary of the Hungarian Olympic Champions Club and curator of the exhibition, told the Hungarian state news agency MTI that the relics come from more than 100 individuals and institutions, collected in 25 towns and villages over the course of six months.
The guest of honour at the opening ceremony was five-time five-time Olympic gold medallist gymnast Ágnes Keleti, who turned 100 on January 9 this year
The exhibition is open until October 10.
