At an event held at the Hungarian University of Physical Education and Sports Sciences in Budapest to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the university's foundation this year, six more athletes' handprints were placed on the Wall of Hungarian Sports Stars, according to MTI.
The Wall of Hungarian Sports Stars was founded in the early 1990s by businessman George F. Hemingway, and although many of the handprints were destroyed in the 2015 fire, the tradition was revived in 2022 at the Hungarian University of Physical Education and Sport Sciences, where around 160 athletes' handprints can now be seen.
They are now members of the Hungarian Wall of Sports Stars: János Becsey, two-time Paralympic champion, four-time world champion, European champion para-swimmer; Krisztina Egerszegi, five-time Olympic, two-time world and nine-time European champion swimmer; László Fábián, Olympic gold medallist, six-time world and five-time European pentathlete; Dénes Kemény, former national water polo team captain and three-time Olympic champion; Antal Nagy, four-time Hungarian national football champion; and Miklós Németh, Olympic champion javelin thrower.
Together with the handprints ceremony, a photo exhibition entitled 'Art and Sport' was opened at the Hungarian University of Physical Education and Sport Sciences.
