The National Bank of Hungary (MNB) was the first in the Central and Eastern European region to join CASI, an international organization that aims to ensure that there are enough experts in sustainable investments worldwide, the central bank told MTI on Friday.
Launched in early December last year, the CASI initiative provides sustainable finance capacity building services to emerging markets and developing economies (EMDEs), leveraging the knowledge and distribution channels of member institutions.
The organization's objective is to contribute to the development of a sustainable finance market and to create more creditworthy green projects in EMDE countries, including the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Central Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America. The main themes of its programs will include identification of sustainable activities, sustainability disclosure, financial products and governance, policy incentives, risk analysis and management, carbon market and green project initiation, the MNB said.
The organization's seminars and webinars will focus on sustainable financial market outlook, disclosure, taxonomy, product innovation and carbon market, according to the statement. The organization's target audiences are sustainable finance policy makers and regulators, financial institutions and service providers, and its trainers are green finance practitioners, policy makers and service providers.
