Safety is very important for travelers, which is why instead of organizing their own trips, they are turning to travel agencies, Judit Molnár, president of the Association of Hungarian Travel Agencies (MUISZ) said in response to an inquiry from MTI.
She added that "it seems that we can breathe a sigh of relief this year, and the summer of 2022 will be a bit like the summer before the crown virus". The twenty or so weekly charters launched last year have doubled this year, with flights to Turkey, the Greek islands, Mallorca, Egypt and Tunisia, bringing the total to 15 destinations.”
She stressed that there is a very high demand for travel, with people keen to go abroad after two years of pandemic. Of course, in the summer, beaches are the most popular holiday destinations, and many people choose cultural tours.
In addition to European destinations, countries such as the United States and Israel will again be high on the popularity list in 2022. Of course, trips to Russia have had to be cancelled, she said, adding that travel companies are not in an easy position: the Russian-Ukrainian war after the pandemic has made it difficult for them to operate, and overseas visitors have also been put off by the war in the neighboring country.
MUISZ, founded in 1974, has 164 member offices, which account for 75% of organized tourism. Last year, one million passengers travelled through Hungarian travel agencies.
