GreenGo has added five new locations to its existing service area in Budapest, making car-sharing more accessible to around 300,000 residents, GreenGo told MTI on Tuesday.
GreenGo cars can now be parked, rented and locked in outer districts like Csepel, Pesterzsébet, Pesthidegkút, Budaörs and Budafok, for example. The company stressed that their vehicles can be used not only in the service area, but throughout the country.
GreenGo's fleet of more than 500 vehicles is made up exclusively of electric cars. As a result, since its launch, GreenGo has saved the environment from more than 5,000 tons of carbon dioxide, with users having already covered 27 million kilometers.
They added that from 2022 to the end of 2023, the number of new users increased by 22% and the number of active users by 25%. GreenGo currently has a user database of tens of thousands.
The service area is planned to be further expanded in the agglomeration by the end of the year, partly to increase the number of users and partly to increase revenue. According to publicly available company data, GreenGo Car Europe Plc.'s net sales amounted to HUF 985.63 million in 2022 and HUF 677.929 million in 2021. The company closed 2022 with a loss of HUF 385.138 million, compared to a loss of HUF 884.226 million a year earlier. Although the 2023 figures have not yet been published, they said that last year they ranked third in the car-sharing market in Hungary.
