Last year, the number of users of Wallis Car Sharing Plc.'s service wigo increased by almost 30% to over 100,000, with customers covering 15 kilometers in an average 52-minute trip, for a total of 8 million kilometers, the same as in 2022, the company told MTI on Monday.
According to the information sheet, the number of customers among business users grew more dynamically by 33%, while the kilometers travelled increased by almost 10%.
The fleet of around 500 vehicles has rejuvenated: by the end of the year, the average age of the cars had fallen to 1.2 years.
In a statement, Márk Koralewsky, CEO of wigo carsharing, said that Budapest and the agglomeration will become more livable as car-sharing spreads. As a single car-sharing car can replace up to seven to ten private cars in urban traffic, more widespread use means less traffic, more parking space and less air pollution. wigo's 100-square-kilometer service area will be complemented by constantly expanding external zones in the agglomeration settlements of Budakalász, Budaörs, Dunakeszi and Érd, among others, he added.
In addition to Hungary, AutoWallis is present in Albania, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Kosovo, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia and Northern Macedonia, where it offers vehicle and parts sales, service and vehicle rental.
According to a previous report, AutoWallis Plc increased its revenue and profit by more than a third in the first three quarters of last year, with both indicators exceeding the full-year 2022 level by the end of September. Last year, the company's revenue grew 36% year-on-year to HUF 282.9 billion in the January-September period. The group's net profit increased by 34% to HUF 10.223 billion, while its EBITDA rose by 38% to HUF 17.489 billion.
