The passenger center of Budapest's Keleti Railway Station has been renovated with HUF 1.9 billion, the project was financed by the government and the European Union, it was announced this Tuesday.
The renovation of the 1,542-square-meter passenger center was aimed at bringing the capital's station up to modern standards for both passengers and staff.
In the renovated area, press representatives were shown the new accessible ticket counters, lifts, modern toilets, vandal-proof sanitary facilities and a dedicated baby-mum room, which will be available to the travelling public from the first week of May.
The refurbishment includes modern offices, a filing room, a break room, a tea kitchen and other staff facilities.
