Waberer’s International Plc. has announced on the website of the Budapest Stock Exchange that it signed a contract with Bayer Construct Construction Plc. this Monday for the construction of a warehouse complex in Ecser, east of Budapest.
The size of the planned new warehouse is 47,000 square meters, the total investment amount of the warehouse development project is HUF 18 billion, including the cost of the construction of the building.
“As indicated in our Investor Release of June 29, 2022, the Company received a non-refundable investment aid from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade for the construction of the warehouse. Waberer's has fulfilled the contractual conditions related to the investment aid, so it is now available to our Company. Construction of the warehouse will start in February and is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2024,” the statement says.
According to Waberer’s CEO Zsolt Barna, ”the construction of the warehouse in Ecser is a major milestone for the regional logistics segment. With the implementation of the project – at a cost level that ensures future competitiveness of our services –, our warehouse network near the M0 highway will be fully developed (in Páty, BILK, Ecser), which thus provides sufficient optimization opportunities for efficient management of our national and Budapest distribution and warehousing systems, and thereby also increases the logistics competitiveness of our customers. With the new investment, we will not only be able to increase our warehousing capacity, but it will also provide us the opportunity to manage ADR (dangerous goods) and ecommerce clients' products with automated logistics solutions. In line with sustainability strategy of Waberer's Group, the facility will comply with the BREEAM Good certification in all aspects. A solar power park will provide the electricity, and we will also prepare the new warehouse for the reception and charging of vehicles with an alternative power train from the beginning of the operation. This will give us more flexibility to reduce the environmental footprint of our customers' logistics services, thus we will able to further increase our service quality.”
