German carrier Lufthansa has entered a codeshare agreement for flights operated by Skyhub PAD and Danish Air Transport connecting Pécs, S Hungary, and the southern German city of Munich, the head of the Pécs-Pogány Airport, Márk Dragovácz said at a press conference in Pécs.
This move by Lufthansa to be an official codeshare partner, thereby simplifies and speeds up travel between Pécs and other parts of the world for connecting passengers, officials announced at a press conference on Wednesday.
In cooperation with the German airline Skyhub PAD and the Danish airline Danish Air Transport (DAT), passengers are transported twice a week — on Monday and Thursday afternoons — on the Munich-Pécs-Munich route.
Márk Dragovácz explained that starting Monday, Lufthansa will offer connections to flights from Pécs from Munich under its own flight numbers, providing passengers with one-stop baggage check-in and guaranteed connections, as well as rebooking in case of delays.
This means that from Pécs, via Munich, more than fifty European destinations, as well as dozens of other airports worldwide, are now accessible with a single transfer, with passengers served by 26 partner airlines in addition to Lufthansa.
