After a six-year hiatus, a direct daily flight will once again connect the United States and Hungary from this Thursday. American Airlines' schedule includes the seasonal flight between Philadelphia and Budapest until October 5, MTI reports.
The dominant American airliner originally launched its direct seasonal flight to Budapest in 2018, but in 2020, air traffic stopped due to the new coronavirus pandemic, and the flight did not resume.
In the coming months, a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner will transport passengers between Philadelphia and Budapest, which could mean a total of 3,200 passengers per week in both directions.
The direct flight will shorten the journey between Budapest and the East Coast of the United States by several hours. The flight time from Philadelphia to Budapest is nearly 9 hours according to the schedule.
At the same time as the Budapest flight, American Airlines will also operate a daily flight to Prague.
After six years, it is once again possible to fly directly to the United States of America from Budapest.
