Not only are some of the flights suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic restarting, but Liszt Ferenc International Airport can also welcome new routes, the operator Budapest Airport celebrated one of the first new flights of this year with a water cannon salute and cake.
According to the latest Budapest Airport bulletin, LOT is launching new flights to two destinations this week: from Saturday, to the Croatian Adriatic port of Dubrovnik and the Bulgarian city of Varna are accessible with direct flights from Budapest. Wizz Air announced the launch of three holiday destinations: Santorini, Menorca and Mykonos. On July 1, the first Wizz Air Budapest-Abu Dhabi flight already departed from Budapest.
Other destinations where flights from Budapest are launched in early July include Bucharest (by Tarom), Helsinki (by Finnair), Oslo (by Norwegian), Cairo (by Egypt Air) as well as Warsaw, Dubrovnik and Varna (all by LOT Polish Airlines).
