A third level (the highest) of heat alert has been issued for the whole country from 00.00 hours on Wednesday till midnight on Friday by the National Chief Medical Officer, based on the forecast of the meteorological service, on the recommendation of the National Center for Public Health (NNK).
In a joint statement, the NNK and the National Directorate General of Disaster Management drew attention to the fact that the heat stresses the body, people may get more tired, so it is recommended to rest a lot, avoid strenuous physical work and reduce prolonged exercise, running and cycling in the hottest hours.
Drivers are also advised to be extra careful as they may also be adversely affected by the heat.
The statement stressed that there is still a ban on lighting fires throughout the country, and that it is forbidden to light fires in forests or within 200 meters of them. There have already been 14,000 outdoor fires reported this year.
It is not forbidden to cook in the garden, barbecue or fry bacon, but as long as the weather is so hot and dry, no one should light fires outdoors.
