Zsófia Beck, managing partner for the energy industry in Central and Eastern Europe at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), has been appointed global head of the firm's integrated energy utilities segment.
According to the announcement, this is the first time the consultancy has appointed a leader to a global position from its Budapest office.
Zsófia Beck joined BCG in 2011 and has led the firm's energy, climate, and sustainability consulting teams in Central and Eastern Europe.
The global expectation for the energy sector today is that energy should be available everywhere, all the time, should not pollute the environment, but most of all should be affordable," she was quoted as saying.
In addition to supply chain constraints, limited labor capacity and severe financing problems, the International Energy Agency's latest figures show that USD 25 billion of grid investment will be needed by 2050 to ensure that the energy system can provide the world with clean, secure and affordable energy, they added.
BCG is present in more than 50 countries, including Hungary since 1997. In 2023, the group had revenues of USD 12.3 billion and 32,000 employees.
