Stricter measures have been introduced by the Budapest Municipality to curb the epidemic. In addition to the banning people from visiting social institutions prohibiting people to leave such institutions, the protection of cultural institutions has been strengthened.
Fining those bot complying with the regulations of wearing mask on public transport vehicles is one of the new directives.
Further measures include the increasing testing capacity in the Municipality's own institutions such as social institutions, homeless care and care for the elderly. The Municipality has also ordered the mandatory wearing of masks in markets, cultural institutions maintained by the capital, museums, libraries, archives, cinemas, theaters, the Budapest Cultural Center and the closed premises of the Budapest Zoo and Botanical Garden.
