Continest Technologies Plc. has established a new subsidiary. Continest Defence Lab for the development of container-based infrastructures designed for defense and humanitarian tasks, the company told MTI.
The Defence Lab not only supplies equipment, but as a technology integrator it is able to integrate the developments of various industry players, universities and research institutes into a single mobile container platform – be it sensor data collection, surveillance, integration of communication or energy systems – it was explained.
They said that new types of structures can be deployed quickly and tailored to real needs.
CEO Vidor Kis-Márton was quoted as saying that the aim is to provide solutions for defense and civil protection actors, as well as humanitarian missions, around the world.
Continest has been involved in a number of successful international collaborations in recent years, supplying mobile infrastructures to the armed forces of various countries, including the Netherlands, Israel, Hungary, Finland, the United States and Slovenia. These have included command centers, mobile medical units, kitchens and advanced firing simulators.
One of the first complex international projects of the Continest Defence Lab is TRAVISMOS (Training with Vital Signs Monitoring in Modular Setup), co-funded by the European Defence Fund with EUR 2.24 million. The project aims to develop a modular and mobile container-based military training system. The system is fully energy independent, powered by solar panels and batteries.
The project is supported by the Hungarian and Slovenian Ministries of Defense. Soldiers of the Hungarian Defence Forces tested the simulation system for two days in Székesfehérvár and will present the solution to the Slovenian Ministry of Defense next week, the statement said.
