Sales by Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing Hungary Ltd. were close to EUR one billion in its first partial year of production. According to company court data, only a fraction, EUR 2.5 million, was realized from the Hungarian market.
According to the Hungarian business daily ‘Napi Gazdaság’, the factory’s pre-tax profit amounted to EUR 54 million, and the company achieved balance sheet profit of more than EUR 28 million. Mercedes does not publish production numbers but executive director Frank Klein said earlier that in the first year, they reached their target of 40 thousand units in the production of the B-Class Mercedes, and this year, more than 100,000 B-Class and CLS models can be manufactured in Kecskemét.
