New CEO Appointed at K&H

Peter Roebben, the current CEO of KBC Group's Bulgarian unit, will take over from Guy Libot as CEO of K&H Bank in Hungary on January 1, pending approval by the competent authorities, K&H Bank has told MTI.

According to the statement, Peter Roebben started his career at KBC in 1991. Within the group, he has held various management positions in London, Madrid, Paris and CSOB in Prague.

From 2010 to 2017, he was part of the K&H Country Team, first as Director for Credit and HR and later as Head of Business Banking and Financial Markets.

In 2017, he was appointed to the KBC Group Top 40 as Head of Group Credit Risk. Two years later, he was appointed CEO of KBC Bank Ireland. In 2021, he became CEO of the Bulgarian unit. Guy Libot will take up a new senior management position within KBC Group from February 1, 2025, it was announced.

According to the release, the changes are designed to ensure that K&H Group remains the benchmark in the bancassurance sector, maintains its growth strategy, encourages innovation and leverages the expertise of its senior management team.

According to earlier information, K&H Group operates 195 retail banking outlets nationwide and offers financial services to around 1.5 million customers across the group, with 3,800 employees. The group has a portfolio of around HUF 3,700 billion in loans and advances.

K&H Bank had equity of HUF 685 billion, total assets of HUF 5,865 billion and profit after tax of HUF 106.6 billion on September 30, while the insurance arm K&H Biztosító had equity of HUF 37 billion, HUF 223.4 billion and HUF 1.2 billion, respectively.

K&H Bank's profit after tax increased by -47% in the first nine months of 2024, while the insurer's was HUF 0.1 billion a year earlier.
