New Production Hall for Siemens Energy

The implementation of an ambitious development plan thru 2025 is underway at Siemens Energy’s Hungarian operation, an important pillar of which is the erection of a 17,000-square-meter production hall in Budapest that just broke ground.

Part of the investment is a training program, and in total 400 new jobs will be created along the way. The training program is worth HUF 2.7 billion, nearly one quarter of which (HUF 630 million) is borne by Hungarian taxpayers through a government decision.

The roots of Siemens’s energy business can be traced back to 1866, while the independent Siemens Energy based in Munich was established in 2020. The company is present in Hungary with two sites. The plant in Budapest is engaged in the production of turbine blades and components, as well as in providing technical services.

Now Siemens Energy is executing a series of investments worth EUR 70 million until 2025 as a result of which 400 new jobs will be created. A key step of this endeavour is the building of the two-story production hall of which foundation stone has been laid where combustion systems for modern gas turbines will be manufactured. The building will be home of Siemens Energy Training Center that supports the dual education program of the company.

Jörn Schmücker, The chairman of the supervisory board of Siemens Energy Ltd. said his company believes in the motto of 'Made FOR Hungary' instead of just 'Made IN Hungary'.

The Hungarian subsidiary plays an increasingly important role in the global strategy of Siemens Energy since development and growth are buzzwords with respect to business development and engineering activities as well as supply chain management and other central functions, among others. Siemens Energy is further set to proceed with supplier and partner development in Hungary both in the field of power plant construction and manufacturing.
