Vodafone Group’s international fundraiser, launched in April, to help the work of charities affected by the pandemic ended at the end of June with the employees raising a total of EUR 1.3 million.
The employees of Vodafone Hungary and the VOIS Vodafone Service Center also participated in the collection and donated their support to the Hungarian Interchurch Aid and the Hungarian Maltese Charity Service at the local level.
The Hungarian Maltese Charity Service restructured all its activities due to the epidemic, and continued its charitable work in compliance with the prescribed precautions. Tens of thousands of people in need in recent months, including the elderly, people with disabilities and homelessness, needy families and children in disadvantaged settlements, have been cared for day in and day out.
The Hungarian Interchurch Aid uses incoming donations to support families living in their temporary homes. They help families who are in a difficult situation due to the virus, which is why the Relief Society must ensure their full care and the participation of children in digital education. They also help the homeless and disadvantaged families who have been caught up in the aftermath of the epidemic and have become even more hopeless in their struggle for daily livelihoods.
