The US Department of State has handed over its agrément to the Hungarian Embassy, under which Réka Szemerkényi, Hungary’s new ambassador to the US, can take up her post in Washington, D.C., the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade announced.
The document was requested by Hungary on November 21, 2014 and received this Wednesday, the Ministry said, noting there had been no delay in the procedure. Réka Szemerkényi, PM Viktor Orbán’s chief security policy advisor, will replace György Szapáry in Washington.
