The stock index of the Budapest Stock Exchange (BSE) declined on lower trading volumes, closing at 46,044.03 points on Friday, 286.69 points, 0.62% lower than a week earlier, MTI reported Sunday morning along with a brief analysis.
The stock market's weekly turnover was HUF 39.02 billion, down from HUF 46.02 billion the previous week, with leading shares falling.
In its weekly summary sent to MTI, Equilor Investment Plc. said that there were no major movements on the BSE this week. The BUX index was trying to climb higher at the beginning of the week, but on Wednesday OTP shares started to realize profits, which pulled the index down.
In relation to the quick reports published this week, Equilor pointed out that OTP exceeded expectations, Magyar Telekom reported higher than expected revenue, EBITDA was in line with expectations, while net profit was weaker. The first quarter was a disappointing one for Mol, while Richter reported positive results.
OTP fell 0.78% for the week, closing at HUF 10,860 on Friday, with weekly turnover exceeding HUF 21.49 billion.
Richter fell 0.72% during the week, closing Friday at 8305 forints, with a weekly turnover of HUF 7.04 billion.
Mol fell 1.15%, with a weekly turnover of HUF 7.3 billion, while the oil paper closed Friday at HUF 2,748.
Magyar Telekom's share price fell by 2.09% this week, closing at HUF 421 on Friday, with a weekly turnover of HUF 2.1 billion.
The BUMIX index of small and medium-sized shares closed the week at 3,370.12 points, down 47.25 points, or 1.38%, on the previous week.
