Two-thirds of Hungarians support the idea of adopting the euro and replacing the forint as soon as possible, according to a recent poll conducted by Pulzus Research for the news site Napi.hu. However, the reality of the move is small for the time being.
To the question, "Would you support the introduction of the euro as soon as possible instead of the forint?" 65% of the total population answered yes, while the ratio not wanting a change was only 35%.
The introduction of the euro in Hungary is an evergreen topic that does not seem very exciting lately, the news site says, which is why it is surprising that - contrary to the standpoint of the current Orbán government and that of the National Bank of Hungary, two-thirds of Hungarians are in favor of the changeover as soon as possible.
