A consortium led by the Hungarian Tourism Certification Body has launched a project to develop a digital center that will help industry insiders better visualize and interpret professional data, the body said on Wednesday.
The project, which will also produce digital learning materials and offer competency development and mentoring services, is supported by close to HUF 1.2 billion in European Union funding.
The consortium members include the Hungarian Hotel and Restaurant Association, the Hungarian Baths Association and the Hungarian National Gastronomy Association.
According to the announcement, the purpose of the digital tourism data center is to provide tourism service providers, destinations and associations with data-visualized, interpretable information suitable for decision-making, thereby supporting independent strategic thinking, data interpretation skills and service optimization.
The system is being developed and implemented by a consortium under the professional and IT coordination of the Hungarian Tourism Quality Certification Board.
In addition to IT developments, the nationwide project includes the creation of digital learning materials and the provision of skills development and mentoring services for small and medium-sized enterprises.
