Microsoft: Hungary Leads the Visegrád Four in AI Use

Hungary ranks 19th globally in the use of artificial intelligence, according to a Microsoft survey covering 147 countries, and among the Visegrád countries, Hungary has the highest rate of artificial intelligence usage, MTI reports.

According to a Microsoft announcement, 32.2% of the working-age population in Hungary used artificial intelligence in the first quarter of 2026, ahead of countries such as Denmark, Germany, and Taiwan. With this, the country maintained the position it achieved the previous year. Within the region, Poland (31%) and the Czech Republic (30.1%) also rank among the leaders.

Of the 147 countries surveyed, 26 reached the 30% threshold. According to the survey, 12 of the 15 fastest-growing economies in terms of artificial intelligence are in Asia.

One of the most important drivers of this growth is the continuous improvement of native-language solutions, according to the report. The report also highlighted that the productivity-boosting effect of AI-based coding tools does not currently reduce, but rather increases, the demand for software developers.

According to Gabriella Bábel, Managing Director of Microsoft Hungary, the widespread use of artificial intelligence could also significantly promote a productivity breakthrough in the Hungarian economy.
