For the third time, the awards for the ‘Conscious Living – Step by Step’ contest have been presented as part of a joint program by Provident Financial Ltd. and the Hungarian Interchurch Aid. The initiative aims to recognize and provide financial support to breadwinners who, even in difficult life situations, are able to make decisions that help them build a more stable future for themselves and their children, Provident says in a statement.
At this year’s award ceremony, three applicants living in the temporary family shelter were honored for setting an example for their community through their perseverance, responsible attitude, and consistent pursuit of long-term goals. The grants help achieve specific goals, such as obtaining a driver’s license to expand employment opportunities, financing healthcare or supporting training related to a child’s future career.
The grant program is part of a strategic partnership between Provident and the Hungarian Interchurch Aid, which focuses on developing financial literacy and supporting social inclusion. The partnership aims to assist families living in difficult circumstances who, due to their marginalized status, are excluded from the opportunities offered by the financial system. Thanks to this initiative, heads of households living in temporary shelters receive support to build a more predictable and informed life, the statement says.
“The ‘Conscious Living – Step by Step’ program is particularly important to us because it allows us to learn about real people’s stories and support real progress through it. It’s good to see that these contributions provide tangible help to families,” Viktor Boczán, CEO of Provident Financial Ltd., said at the award ceremony.
A total of eight valid applications were received for the 2026 call from the temporary family shelters maintained by the aid organization.
