A scheme supported by the European Union aimed at detecting, documenting and preventing cybercrime, identifying the perpetrators, and recovering the assets affected has been launched by the national police headquarters ORFK and the national protective service NVSZ, police said on Tuesday.
The aim of the program is to increase the effectiveness of action against serious and organised cross-border crimes, the police said on its website.
It will be implemented with 1.312 billion forints (EUR 3.4m) in EU funding from the Internal Security Fund Plus, the website said. The project will involve the purchase of data recovery and analysis tools and software, as well as joint operations and setting up joint investigation teams, it added.
The developments are expected to be completed by December 31, 2028.
