Many people expect to be able to re-enter certain places only after they have confirmed that they have been vaccinated against, or have previously survived, the coronavirus infection.
79% of Hungarians believe that the presentation of the immunity certificate card will soon be more widespread again. They think that in the fall, hotels, restaurants and cinemas will be open to the public only on presentation of the document. Only 11% of respondents thought that such a tightening would not be necessary, according to a survey conducted by Pulzus Research on behalf of the news site Napi.hu.
Women and men were about equally divided on this (78 and 80%), with those of different age groups more divided. 85% of 18-39 year-olds, 75% of middle-aged people and 76% of people aged 60 and over think that the card will be necessary.
The highest proportion (14%) of those with primary education are confident that the epidemiological rules will not be tightened. Only 3% of those with tertiary education think so.
Budapest residents are the most pessimistic on the issue, with 87% of them expecting a tightening in the autumn. Residents of county towns and villages were slightly below average (79%) in saying they expect the card to be required again in the fall.
