Hungary's Katinka Hosszú won her second world title at the World Aquatics Championships in Barcelona, Spain this Sunday by beating the field in the women's 400-meter individual medley. On Saturday, Hungary won a gold in men's waterpolo. Earlier in the week, Hosszú won the 200-meter individual medley while reigning Olympic champion Dániel Gyurta defended his title in the men's 200-meter breaststroke event.
Hosszú, who also won a bronze in the 200-meter butterfly event, said she was extremely tiired after the 400-meter medley. "I was afraid I would not be able to reach the wall at the end. What drove me was that as soon as I touch the wall, the championship is over. I'm very satisfied with these three medals."
Saturday night, the Hungarian men's waterpolo national team beat Montenegro 8-7 to regain the world title after ten years. The Hungarian side coached by Tibor Benedek, controlled the game all the way through ands scored a deserved victory.
Also winning medals for Hungary at this event were László Cseh (silver in the men's 100-meter butterfly) and the women's national waterpolo team.
