The Vice President of Brazil, Michel Termer, who is visiting Budapest, told Diplomacy & Trade that his country considers Hungary an important partner that can provide important technological solutions, especially in the fields of agriculture and fishing.
In an interview granted to Diplomacy & Trade and the Hungarian news agency MTI, the Vice President spoke about the key elements of Brazil’s success in the past decades. In 1988, a new legal environment was created to lay the foundations of a democratic state by granting political freedom, freedom of expression and individual freedom rights. This was harmonized with social inclusion, the struggle against poverty and social progress.
He also spoke about the role of the Hungarian community in Brazil – the largest one in Latin America, mentioning that he himself was going to a Hungarian-founded secondary school.
The July-August issue of Diplomacy & Trade carries the whole interview with Vice President Temer as well as some notes by the Brazilian Ambassador to Hungary, Sérgio Eduardo Moreira Lima.
