Airlines operating flights to Budapest are offering an expanded portfolio of destinations for the festive period. Aerial connections have been announced to a total of 51 destinations from the middle of December, so that those who are able to spend the holidays with their loved ones can do so.
November traffic: 49,283 passengers
As expected, traffic at Ferenc Liszt International Airport decreased further in November, due to the spread of the coronavirus pandemic and the introduction of travel and other restrictions.
The Hungarian capital's airport welcomed a total of 49 283 arriving and departing passengers last month, which corresponds to the daily passenger number registered during this period last year. Budapest Airport thus recorded a 96.1% drop in traffic during the month of November, compared to the same month in 2019. The airport operator expects a similar passenger volume in December as well, although the Christmas period could produce a slight increase. This means that annual traffic at Budapest Airport will be no more than four million in 2020.
