Routes between Hungary and Transylvania are served again from June 26, thus, it will be possible to travel by long-distance bus from Budapest to more than 15 settlements in the western part of Romania.
At first, there will be a direct night bus between Kolozsvár (Cluj-Napoca), Marosvásárhely (Târgu Mureş), Nagyvárad (Oradea), Csíkszereda (Miercurea Ciuc), Székelyudvarhely (Odorheiu Secuiesc) and the Hungarian capital five times a week, as well as to Temesvár (Timisoara) and Arad without transfer from Budapest. In line with passenger needs, FlixBus wants to further expand the number of connections available in the region in the coming weeks.
"Last year, Budapest was one of the most popular European destinations for our passengers departing from Romania, so we considered it important to provide travel on this route as soon as possible after the restart of our network," regional managing director László Arany said.
Extensive hygiene measures for safe travel
FlixBus has introduced new, comprehensive hygiene and safety measures across Europe, which it has adapted to the current situation in collaboration with experts and authorities. These are also applies to routes between Hungary and Romania.
In addition to thorough disinfection of long-distance buses, passengers are also provided with hand sanitizers on board. Those waiting at the stops are asked by the company to keep the generally expected distance of at least one and a half meters from each other. Wearing a mask covering the mouth and nose is mandatory from boarding the bus for the entire duration of the trip until arrival. The rules are explained by bus drivers when boarding and can also be found on the company’s website.
