Budapest Public Transport to Go Back to Normal

June 14, 2020

With the easing of the coronavirus epidemic, the front part of the buses and trolleybuses in the Hungarian capital will no longer be cordoned off from Monday, June 15, 2020, thus allowing passengers to keep a greater distance from each other by making full use of the passenger compartments of vehicles.

A statement by the public transport company Center for Budapest Transport (BKK) says that it is possible to board the buses and trolleys at the front door again, so the front-door entry rule will take effect again on routes, where vehicles could only be boarded at the front door before the epidemic. In order to protect the drivers of public transport in the capital, BKK continues to ask passengers that if possible, they should not sit near the driver's cabin. It is still not possible to buy a line ticket from the drivers until further action.
