An exhibition opened in the Hungarian National Gallery on June 27, presenting paintings and drawings by French and Hungarian impressionists and post-impressionists, including Claude Monet, Paul Gauguin, Pál Szinyei-Merse and József Rippl-Rónai.
The exhibition highlights the points of contact of the period's central and eastern European art in a broad context. The exhibition, on display until October 13, includes close to fifty French and seventy Hungarian paintings from the collections of the Israel Museum of Jerusalem, the Hungarian National Gallery and the Museum of Fine Arts of Hungary.
